About Us
Why I love what I do……
I love saying good morning to Willy and Nilly, the goats, on the way
out to the barn each morning. I love finding a few fresh eggs from
Millie and Tillie, the chickens, as I pass their roost on the way
into my fabric room.
Each day, when I open the door to this corner room, I feel the same
sense of wonder and anticipation that I felt as a child when I
entered the corner penny candy store. Oh, the possibilities!
As the sun shines through the windows of Buttonwood Farm, I usually
take a few minutes to watch Drake and Destiny, the ducks, splash
around in their small pool and then I gather up the fabrics of the
day and bring them up to my sunny workroom.
For me, it’s all about the fabrics. Whether I am creating a memory
quilt or a T-Bag, the textures of the fabrics are key. I love using
fabrics that have been in someone’s life as clothing and
restructuring these pieces of memory into something new and
functional. I especially love sewing on all different types of beads
to the fabrics for the purses and
totes. It really makes the bag unique. I enjoy having a customer
discover their creative nature by choosing which fabrics they will
use for their own custom creation.

I can’t even begin to describe the feelings of peace and love I get
from working on the memorial quilts. Being
able to create a tactile comfort for a person who is grieving the
loss of someone they love is very powerful for me. I hope you can
take a minute to read the words of some of the
truly special people who have allowed me create these objects for
them.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you will
contact
me with your questions or comments. I look forward to
working with you to create a special object which incorporates the
fabrics of your life.
Warmly,
Susan
